The (real) end of Gaddafi

Muammar al Gaddafi Mouammar Kadhafi Colonel Qu...Image by Abode of Chaos via FlickrTwo months ago to the day I published an entry titled "The end of Gaddafi". It has taken this long for the freedom fighters of Lybia to catch him up and finally kill him.
The videos showed all over the Internet are not a pretty sight, as apparently he was caught alive although severely wounded and finished off shortly afterwards.
His body did not lay in state as a head of, actually, a state, but rather in the floor of a freeze storage room as shown by the TVs, awaiting disposal. Before him dictators Mussolini and Ceacescu's bodies were similarly desecreated.
This is going to be the writting of history in the 21st century: Videos from any witnesses. Mobile phone cameras make a reporter out of anybody.
One would think that these experiences should have some impact on currently alive dictators and help them to reconsider their positions. I am afraid this is not going to be. They'll cling to power till the bitter end, come hell or high water. Or a revolution.
As the list of dictators is still disgracefully long, we are in for more shows like that of Gaddafi's last moments.
